Measuring Capacity
In math we are working on capacity. Capacity is _____________.
We drew pictures of things we could measure using gallons, cups, and ounces. See if you can tell the class which unit of measurement you would use to measure the items below:
- the ocean
- gas for your car
- vanilla for a batch of cookies
- hand sanitizer on your hand
- Capri Sun bag
- water in the tub
- eye drops
- a can of Pepsi
- a glass of milk
- a bottle of glue
Angelo:
It is faster to measure with gallons if you are measuring a lake. The perfect way to measure the amount of water that would fit in the globe in our classroom is cups.
Andrew:
An ocean is bigger than a gallon.

Speaking of capacity, see if you can answer the questions below:
ReplyDeleteHow many quarts of blood are there in the average human body?
